Awe, Wonder, and Reverence: Technology vs. God

“I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.”

Psalm 145:5

It is so easy to get caught up in the new technology and the lightning speed with which we seem to be advancing. As we read the news each day it seems there is some new thing or invention which holds our awe and wonder. Awe, wonder and reverence that we hold for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, is being replaced instead with the hypnotic awe and wonder that that confuses and misdirects human minds and upends lives. It merely captures and impresses in a worldly, shallow way.

The digital, global beast spy system

Already, nearly every item is tracked from raw materials to manufacturing, distribution and final sale. Did you use your rewards card or pay by credit card? They know how much bread, meat, ice cream, gas and ammunition you buy, as a part of your permanent record.

The United Nations in their Agenda 2030 seeks to register and issue a biometric digital identity to every living person on earth. Already, Australia, the European Union, Ghana and China have or are implementing these programs. Most recently, Nepal has announced submission to the global beast system and will digitally mark all of its citizens at birth.

Social credit in China limits a person’s access to necessities or a better life because they are not kow-towing to the political and social expectations of the government.

If you have a smart phone, have you noticed that even though you have not activated your phone, suddenly advertising pops up on your phone for the toaster oven you casually mentioned in a conversation?

You have become no more than a faceless number, thereby reducing your personhood to less than that of a sparrow. You are now a digital commodity to be bartered and traded like stocks. (Use cash when you can and shop local.)

Medical research

Nanorobotics; the quest for fleshly immortality; Luciferase; Elon Musk’s Neuralink brain implants, new viruses.

It is, in a sense, quite impressive, how much man is able to merge the human body with technology. But, in a recent symposium Dr. Ana Mihalcea stated, “The transformation of humans through synthetic biology and nanotechnology is currently happening in full force, and the human species is at risk.”

Advanced Weaponry

Often publically denied, the U.S. Government Accounting Office tells us, “directed energy weapons...can produce force that ranges from deterrent, to damaging, to destructive... Different types of electromagnetic energy have different properties. High energy lasers produce a very narrow beam of light, usually infrared to visible regions, and are typically used on one target at a time. The beam can be pulsed or continuous, generating a power output of at least 1 kilowatt... and is capable of melting steel.”

The Havana Syndrome first appeared in 2016, when U.S. and Canadian embassy staff in Havana experienced an array of unusual, unexplained health problems. The various symptoms include tinnitus, nausea, dizziness and loss of balance, memory and concentration issues, light and sound sensitivity, extraordinary irritability and the feeling of intense pressure or vibration in the head. Referred to as anomalous health incidents (AHIs), the victims speculate that they had been hit by a microwave weapon or directed energy device.

Artificial Intelligence

Still in its infancy but advancing by leaps and bounds daily, A.I. is permeating even the lives of our young people for writing reports. National magazines and news outlets have been caught using A.I. written articles for so-called “news reporting;” Hollywood is using it to bring actors back from the dead, and voice drop-ins. A.I. is being positioned to make potentially life-or-death decisions a la the 80s movie War Games. Stephen Colbert, host of The Late Show says that he is ready to “put the machines in charge now.”

Usurpers of God’s Majesty and Refocusing

This article hasn’t even mentioned other distractions such as sports, social media, Hollywood, famous personalities and influencers and the many other ways people are being awed and bamboozled.

As technology advances and impresses, forgetting the majesty, awe and wonder of God and His Salvation becomes easier. Satan always tries his best to distract us. But tune out, if you will, the artificial awe and wonder of the world. Let the awe, magnitude and presence of God and His marvelous works will fill your mind and heart. And most importantly, create this foundation in your children and grandchildren. Tomorrow’s technology will seem shallow in comparison.

“I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” —Psalm 139:14
