God Is Not A Racist!

Having had many good questions asked recently about my beliefs about the Jewish people and about Israel, I thought it would be helpful for me to answer some of those questions in Power of Prophecy newsletter.

Who Are God's Chosen People?

Question: "Texe, I was always taught by ministers that the Jews are eternally God's Chosen People, a special and unique race favored by God, whom He loves above all races. But, now I have doubts. What is the truth?"

Answer: "You are right to doubt this, for it is unscriptural, false doctrine. God is no racist! Let's see what the scriptures reveal. In I Peter 8:10, Christians are told: "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people...the people of God."

The Apostle Paul, in Ephesians, wrote to Christians: "God hath chosen us."

So clearly, the scriptures teach that it is Christians, not members of the Jewish or any other specific race, who are chosen and a holy nation. Jews and Gentiles who believe in Christ Jesus and are born again in Him are God's Chosen."

Who are Abraham's Seed?

Question: "In Genesis, didn't God promise Abraham's seed the inheritance? Aren't Abraham's seed the Jews?"

Answer: "It is Abraham's seed, chosen out of all races and nations on earth, who, through faith, have the Promise. And God keeps His promises. God told Abraham that by his seed, the whole world would be blessed. Praise God! However, Abraham was not a Jew—he came from Ur, in the Chaldees. Thus, Abraham was a Babylonian!

So, who, then, are Abraham's seed, heirs to the Promise? Again, we must turn to the scriptures for the answer. Galatians 3:29 reveals that the "seed" refers to anyone, of any physical race, who has put on Christ Jesus: "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."

And the clincher: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male or female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).

Watch out if you decide to believe men and not God on this matter. Paul warns that to believe that the law alone can save a man, or that unrepentant Jews are the godly seed of Abraham, is to believe in witchcraft. Such people are "bewitched" and "foolish," he says (Galatians 3:1).

So, when you and I hear people today spout such foolishness, we should respond just as Paul did. Let them know of their grave error by warning them they have bought into the lies of witchcraft!"
