“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.”

Eavesdropping has happened from time immemorial. It has been used for both good and evil. God commanded Moses to send spies into Canaan. In Numbers 13:2-18 we read:
|
“Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them... And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;”

Likewise, the Apostle Paul’s life was saved by an eavesdropper. In Acts 23:16 we read: “And when Paul’s sister’s son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.”
Is It Good to Spy?
As a parent—especially to teenagers—we have all listened to conversations between our children and their friends. It’s not because we wish to shackle them to their bed, but out of concern for their well-being. In this manner, spying or eavesdropping has no malice aforethought. We should heed Jesus’ words in Luke 6:31: “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”
Nations have spied on each other to protect their sovereignty and assets. A prime example was the Cuban Missile Crisis. In response to American nuclear missiles being placed in England, Turkey, and Italy, Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev and Cuban dictator Fidel Castro reached an agreement to place nuclear missiles in Cuba. Eventually
cooler heads prevailed and both sides stood down and the weapons were dismantled.
The Dark Side of Spying
Many people rationalize that spying on others is okay without recognizing there is a fine line between good and evil. Israel’s Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion believed that his theocratic country needed to be protected from all enemies, be they real or perceived.
A number of the scientists on the Manhattan Project were Jewish. As history has revealed, nuclear material was procured illegally from the United States and made its way into the hands of the Zionists. When John F. Kennedy issued an ultimatum to Ben-Gurion concerning Israel’s nuclear program, the response was swift and unforgiving.
Today, our so-called ally in the Middle East spends more money and allocates more assets to spy on our military and political apparatus than any other nation. Israel’s machine has succeeded in co-opting every facet of our leadership.
Willingly Ignorant
Thanks to the subversion of the church—along with multiple “sanitized” versions of the Bible—many so-called Christians fawn over the nation of Israel. Misguided congregants listen as the compromised pastor teaches that blessing Israel will be a blessing to us.
No longer are the sheeple imbued with the intestinal fortitude of the Bereans. Many pew-sitters do not carry His Word into the church, and none would dare to question the message delivered. How sad that the wicked have been successful at deceiving the masses. We have forgotton what was written in Hosea 4:6: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee.”
Is It Spying If We Invite Them In?
English writer Mary Howitt penned a powerful poem in 1829 entitled, “The Spider and the Fly.” The opening line has become synonymous with how the gullible masses can be influenced. It says, “Come into my parlor, said the spider to the fly.”
As has been reported numerous times by Power of Prophecy, Americans have opened the door and willingly invited snoops into their homes. The marketing, née propaganda, has convinced millions that each new device will make life easier.
When Amazon began offering its personal assistant Alexa, hundreds of millions were sold globally. Shortly thereafter Google offered its version which has sold over fifty million. Unbeknownst to many at the time, these “assistants” were listening and recording every conversation.
Although Amazon claims they do not “sell” this data, the company does “analyze your voice queries, commands, and inferred interests to serve targeted product and web ads.” Amazon also uses voice recordings, transcripts, and interactions for A.I. and algorithm training.
Many “SmartTVs” contain cameras and listening devices. This is another goldmine for data collection on individuals and their households. In case you have missed one important part: This data collection is being sold and/or used to target you. The future implementation of social credit scores could be impacted by what you say, watch, or do.
Big Brother Knows All
There are a number of federal agencies that are interested in you as well. Why else would the National Security Agency have built numerous data collection centers around our country?
Do you own a cellphone? Your voice print has been recorded, analyzed, and stored for future use. Also, the Global Positioning Sensor (GPS) in your phone or car has tracked every location you have visited, no matter how mundane you think it might be.
Have you used a debit or credit card to purchase items? Each and every transaction has been recorded. This data shows your proclivities for food, beverages, clothes, shoes, et al.
Exercise Prudence and Be Wise
His Holy Word offers many instructions for us to live our daily lives. Proverbs 2:10-11 states: “When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:” We must exercise vigilance and discernment, recognizing that earthly authorities and spiritual forces may know more about us than we realize.
We should be comforted in the fact that He is always watching us. In Proverbs 15:3 we read: “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” His vigilant eye provides protection and guidance for those who have ears to hear.
There is a peacefulness in knowing that our Christian principles are guiding us. Scriptures teach us honesty, justice, accountability, and love for our neighbors. As Paul wrote so eloquently in Galatians 5:25: “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
