The Subversion of American Sovereignty (Volume 2)—Free Speech: For some time now we have heard rumblings about Google limiting search results to liberal ideals, recent censorship of videos on YouTube, and now Facebook censoring posts by conservatives. One has to wonder how much of our speech is actually free today? The First Amendment grants us, as citizens of the United States of America, a right to free speech. Unfortunately, that freedom is becoming an endangered species. Some colleges have refused to allow conservative speakers to hold a conference on their campus. Professors have berated any who have an opposing view to their liberal ideals. Now, state lawmakers in California have introduced legislation to criminalize speech on the internet. How far will this egregious violation of our Constitutional rights go?
Black Lives Don’t Matter—In Israel: Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, had an agreement with the UN to resettle African migrants. Days later, this deal was renounced. Now, these refugees from Africa have been told they have no more than ninety days to leave Israel or face imprisonment. Israel claims that these refugees are economic migrants and Israel can’t and shouldn’t have to care for them. Netanyahu has even stated that these African migrants “pose a greater threat to Israel than terrorism.” Netanyahu also complimented the country’s border wall with Egypt, once stating it was “a strategic decision to secure Israel’s Jewish and democratic character.” Rabbi Yosef Scheinen, one of the top rabbis in Israel, has stated, “Racism originated in the Torah.”

It prompted Francis Scott Key to pen the poem that has become our nation’s National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner. Although other countries’ anthems profess pride or inflated language about their greatness, were you aware that our national anthem poses a question? We all have heard the song hundreds of times, either at events or sporting contests, but have you heard this question? Is our national anthem racist, as the California NAACP would have you believe?
