On the Road to
Damascus: On his
journey to Damascus, intending to capture followers of Christ and return them Jerusalem for
imprisonment and certain death, the Apostle Paul heard a voice from heaven. In this instant,
Paul’s whole point of view was dramatically changed. Understanding that Jesus was the
true Messiah and realizing that he had helped murder and imprison innocent people, Paul
realized he had been spiritually blind. After repenting and being baptized, Paul’s
conversion was complete. In the blink of an eye, Paul had become the most unpopular person
on the earth—the believers didn’t trust him and the Jews wanted to kill him.
His calling on the road to Damascus became an important part of his story. He realized that
in Christ, Jews and Gentiles had been brought together. There are many today walking on their
own proverbial road to Damascus, hating Christ and His followers. Will you be the one to shine
the Light of Christ on them and help bring them into His family?
