Is Man Too Smart for Their Own Good?

Although the words artificial intelligence do not appear in the Bible, simplisticly, we know artificial means FAKE and intelligence can mean knowledge or wisdom. It’s not so hard to understand what the Bible has to say about AI aka Fake Knowledge or Wisdom.
It really is impressive. In an instance a software architecture called a deep neural network (DNN) breaks down the words of a query into “tokens.” Then, it predicts the sequence that’s most likely to make sense with the user based on their interactions. Answers are different for every person and conversation, requiring a huge amount of electricity and energy. Also programs like ChatGPT remembers you and your previous queries. All. of. Them.
What these god-like AI creators glaze over is that even if you gather together all of the knowledge of man, it will still pale in comparison to our omnipotent, all-knowing Father. All their fake, worldly, shallow knowledge still will not equal a thimble full of God’s intelligence and knowledge—such is the vast expansiveness of the one who created the heavens and the earth, the animals and man. You and I understand this—these AI creators do not, nor does the undiscerning user.
Is this possibly an antichrist? AI has certainly become a charismatic presence; it deceives many and has already been associated with traits such as lawlessness, blasphemy, and sexual immorality. AI is so powerful that it may even be perceived as performing false miracles.
Much like building the Tower of Babel to reach the heavens and God, or Lucifer proclaiming he will be like the most high, so too do these creators fancy themselves as all-powerful gods.
It may sound like I am anti-progress. I would call me hesistant because a glance at recent history has shown us what the mindless embracing of social media and constant tech integration has done to a large swath of our society. Lonely, empty lives are lived in high tech prisons of our own making.
Recent headlines read “AI makes people lazy,” “People are more likely to cheat using AI.” Sexting, porn and child porn are already in use. Even some high tech leaders caution about the dangers of AI.

Is Artificial Intelligence a technological triumph or existential threat?

In truth, AI advancements are only as good as those who create them. The mantra of early computer developers still rings true today: Garbage In/Garbage Out. Is AI being held to any standard of responsibility and ethics? It’s doubtful, as the creators are so drunk with their new-found, god-like power that they will author and create without compunction.
The CIA technology funding arm, In-Q-Tel, has a large hand in incubating AI related companies. Knowing the CIA is not investing in these tech companies without “greater good” purposes in mind as it has in the past, we should proceed with extreme caution.
It’s clear to me that mankind is devolving in a sense—both the creators of this golem and its users. The creators are building golden calves and towers to heaven to replace God and the masses are dumbstruck by another shiny new toy. The more we rely on godless creators of technologies such as AI, the farther away we get from God.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Who will be the winners in the advancements of AI? We know the billionaires will be and our government also. What about the rest of mankind?
